Sue is a clinical psychologist who moved to Perth from South Africa in 2006. She has a Master of Arts (Clinical Psychology) and is endorsed as a specialist Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.
Sue has worked across a number of settings in both the public and private sectors. Along with her private practice, Sue also co-ordinates the Mood and Anxiety Management group programme at the Hollywood Clinic, an acute psychiatric unit.
Sue treats adults and some adolescents and has experience working with a broad range of disorders including, trauma and acute stress disorders, depression, anxiety, psychotic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, drug and alcohol disorders, adjustment disorders and stress related to work and lifestyle factors. Within her private practice she conducts individual, couple and family sessions.
Sue’s is committed to ethical evidence based practice. Her theoretical approach is influenced by psychoanalytical theory but she works predominantly from a schema focussed model. She also uses interpersonal therapy, narrative therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy.
She is an AHPRA approved supervisor of clinical psychologists and is recognised by Medicare Australia as a provider of specialist psychological services.
